EMS University is actively exploring the possibility of offering EMT training in the greater Portland metropolitan area. Any future program would require approval from the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), EMS and Trauma Systems Program.

We are reviewing OHA program accreditation requirements under OAR 333-265, evaluating clinical placement sites at Portland-area trauma centers and ambulance services, and assessing training facility options. Our team is evaluating classroom and lab space in the Portland metro area, exploring clinical rotation partnerships with OHSU, Providence Portland Medical Center, and Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, and reviewing Oregon's OAR 333-265 EMT program accreditation standards.

Subject to State Approval

Oregon EMT programs must be approved by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), EMS & Trauma Systems Program, and comply with OAR 333-265 standards covering curriculum, instructor qualifications, clinical hours, and student-to-instructor ratios.
